Hood Warfare 2 PS5 and Xbox: Is It on Console?
No. Hood Warfare 2 is a Windows PC game on Steam, and there is no Hood Warfare 2 PS5 or Xbox version. Trapstar Games has not announced one. Below: the status on every console, the rumors checked one by one, and how to play today if you only own a console.

Is Hood Warfare 2 on PS5?
No. There is no Hood Warfare 2 PS5 or PS4 version to buy or download. The game launched on October 8, 2026 on Steam for Windows only, and Trapstar Games has not announced a Hood Warfare 2 PS5 version or a release date for one.
That surprises a lot of people, because a Hood Warfare 2 PS5 search turns up plenty of gameplay. Those videos are recorded on PC. Hood Warfare 2 has full controller support and a Call of Duty style HUD, so PC footage played on a controller looks a lot like console footage.
Is Hood Warfare 2 on Xbox?
No. There is no Hood Warfare 2 for Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, and Trapstar Games has not announced one or a Game Pass release. It is easy to see why people look for it there: the game looks and plays like Call of Duty, a series most Xbox players know.
One Xbox-branded device does run it: the ROG Xbox Ally handheld. It is a Windows PC in handheld form, so it runs the Steam version, and a performance test of Hood Warfare 2 on the ROG Xbox Ally X is on YouTube.
Hood Warfare 2 console release date: what we know
There is no Hood Warfare 2 PS5 or Xbox release date. Here is everything the developer has said, and what it tells you:
- The Steam posts promise updates, not ports. The launch post says more updates are coming, and the patch 1.0.10 note calls it one of many updates to come. Neither mentions PlayStation or Xbox.
- The first game stayed on PC. Hood Warfare came out on Steam in January 2023 and never left Windows PC.
- A console version takes time. A PlayStation or Xbox release needs a port, certification by Sony or Microsoft, and console versions of online features such as voice chat and anti-cheat. Hood Warfare 2 only added voice chat and anti-cheat on PC in its first patch.
If Trapstar Games announces a Hood Warfare 2 PS5 or Xbox version, it will show up in its Steam news first, and on this page the same day. Until then, treat any console release date you see as a rumor.
Hood Warfare 2 console rumors, checked
The Hood Warfare 2 PS5 and Xbox claims that keep coming up in comments and short videos.

“Hood Warfare 2 works with a PS5 or Xbox controller”

Does Hood Warfare 2 have crossplay?
Without a Hood Warfare 2 PS5 or Xbox version, there is nothing to cross. Hood Warfare 2 runs on one platform, Windows PC through Steam, so every player is already in the same pool. Your friends can join you from any Windows machine that meets the Hood Warfare 2 system requirements, including a Windows handheld, and patch 1.0.10 added lobby and team voice chat so you can talk without Discord.
How to play Hood Warfare 2 without a gaming PC
Until a Hood Warfare 2 PS5 version exists, these are the real options if you own a console but no gaming PC:
- A Windows gaming laptop. A laptop with a GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, RTX 3060 or RTX 4050 laptop graphics card or better meets the minimum. Check yours with the system requirements checker.
- A Windows handheld. The ROG Ally, ROG Xbox Ally and Legion Go run the Steam version. They sit below the minimum graphics spec, so expect low settings.
- A Steam Deck. Valve has not rated Hood Warfare 2, and its Easy Anti-Cheat only runs on the Deck if the developer allows Linux. Players on Reddit report it runs on low settings.
- Stream from a PC you already have. If a PC in your home runs it, the free Steam Link app streams the game to a TV, phone or tablet on the same network.
Cloud gaming is not an option yet: we found no GeForce NOW listing for Hood Warfare 2 as of October 14, 2026.
Can you use a PS5 or Xbox controller?
Yes, on PC, which is the closest you can get to Hood Warfare 2 PS5 controls today. Steam lists full controller support for Hood Warfare 2, so a DualSense, DualShock 4 or any Xbox controller works over USB or Bluetooth. Steam's controller settings map the buttons for you, and fan guides report killstreaks on the D-pad.
